Michael D. Kuhn
Shareholder
Personal Experience
Michael D. Kuhn, the founding shareholder of KLCS, is widely regarded as one of Colorado’s preeminent litigators. Among other fields, Michael practices employment law (with a particular focus on overtime compensation matters), complex corporate litigation, litigation, and probate/trust litigation.
Sophisticated clients from across the country — both individuals and business entities — seek out Michael’s legal abilities. They do so for good reason: Over the last several years, Michael’s peers in the legal community have nominated Michael for more “Top Attorney” nominations than any other attorney in the region. He has been selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers for each of the past five years.
Whether in meetings, in trial, in arbitration, or on appeal, Michael’s no-nonsense approach typically obtains excellent results for his clients. As another employment attorney describes, “If you’re looking for a hug, Michael isn’t your guy. If, however, you want to win, he’s your best choice.” Michael’s candor and integrity have caused him to be a trusted advisor and advocate.
From small disputes to bet-the-company litigation, and from jurisdictional arguments to constitutional challenges, Michael’s experience is as broad as it is successful. His work has resulted in numerous favorable outcomes as well as published opinions in state and federal courts.
Michael has served as a trustee on the El Paso County Bar Foundation, is active member of the Ben S. Wendelken Inn of Court, and an attorney advisor with Colorado Springs Teen Court. Outside of work and his professional volunteering, Michael can be found spending time with, and cooking for, his wife and three young boys.
